When you were young
What did you want?

I wanted a big blue aeroplane

So that I could travel the whole world

When I've grown up

What
did I want?
I wanted a red answering machine

So we can record this: "Hello, we're not at home at the moment"

I began to like red instead of blue because of you

One thing about Mandarin love songs is that they're lyrics are so simple but yet it really touches your heart. You may think it is weird for a banana like me to love Mandarin songs, but I can tell you that for me, this is one of the easiest way to learn a language at my age.

It is from songs that I learn how to understand basic Mandarin conversations although I never know how to utter them. It is just weird because everytime I try to speak, I last for about 5 seconds before reverting back to English or Malay. Trust me, being part of the almost extinct species of "banana" is not exactly the coolest thing to be. Lol. But that is partly my fault too. I have never really tried to focus on learning up the language. Even after stating that "I shall not attempt to learn any other language unless I have mastered Mandarin", I still shift it from one to-do list to another since my post-SPM days until today.

But this post will not be about that. It is about a live concert and a concert addict of any kind from rock concerts to musicals. Yes, I am a sucker for live music especially if it is by artists I love. Some may cringe at the word "concert" because of the mad rush of people pushing each other to get a glimpse of their favourite celebrity. The heat and the discomfort of literally rubbing shoulders with a total stranger is also another deterrent. I personally enjoy concerts because of the music and the pre-concert excitement. The crowds and discomfort is just parts and parcel of the whole thing and it is definitely worth it especially when the concert begins. Except when the crowd's behaviour gets ugly and fights begin to take place. O.o

Ahh..I have digressed again. Anyway, I heard from a friend that Lee Hom was going to be in One Utama for a showcase and autograph session. All I needed to attend the concert was his new album. I jumped at this chance of meeting him since he is one of my favourite artists. I admit that I did initially paid extra attention to his looks rather than his music. But as I slowly discovered more of his music and watch his interviews, I began to appreciate him as an artist with great talent instead of just a "Pretty Boy".

So I patiently waited for him to perform under the blazing Sun for more than an hour. He came on stage at about 7 something and the crowd cheered happily. That's the other great thing about concerts. But I was a little dissatisfied since he only performed ONE song. Well, they don't call it showcase for nothing...Lol.

Then, it was time for the autograph session. I made an honest mistake by lining up together with the Homaniacs because I thought the crowd was just divided into VIP and non-VIP. Little did I know that the VIP tickets get the first preference, followed by Homaniacs and then for the rest like me a non Homaniacs and non VIP with the album. It turned out to be a good mistake because I got his autograph pretty quick and by the time I realized I've already gotten his signature. I kinda felt bad afterthat for cutting queue but oh well.."Ignorance is bliss". =P Overall, it was a gleeful day. I got to see my favourite artist up close even if it was only for a split second!

Gosh..Still can't believe I am going to miss Adam Lambert's concert! =/
