Waka-waka (It's Time for Africa)

First, I am no MAJOR football fan, honestly. It is to the point where I still struggle until today figuring out what exactly is considered as "offside". In fact, one may conclude that my tendency to watch the World Cup is partly driven by good looking players. =P

But I have always love watching Germany play. In fact, I have sort of "sworn my allegiance" to Germany since 2002's World Cup. Well, there is some Ballack factor influencing my decision, but it is also largely because they always provide excitement to the game. Yes, they are seriously good at scoring goals or just continuously attacking the opponent.

Last night was an exhiliarating match. I knew I simply cannot miss that match since my brother is a MAJOR Argentina fan. I do enjoy watching Lionel Messi play, but that was not enough to make me change sides. In fact, my brother and I made a pact that the winning team must buy dinner for the losing team.

The pre-match excitement began with my brother hanging up his away Argentina jersey to reiterate his loyalty. Since I do not see the point of buying a jersey, I wore a black t-shirt to synchronise with the colour of the away jersey for Germany. Next would be a few thrashing phrases at each other like "Germany is SO going to win" or "You just wait, Messi is going to score a hatrick" =P

Then the game began. Within the first few minutes, Thomas Muller scored. It took a few minutes for my neurones to fire before I found myself leaping out of the chair! XD. The game continued to be on Germany's side with a lovely goal by Arne Fredriech and Klose, which got me a little euphoric! I knew there was little hope for Argentina and the winner was sealed with the last 89 minute goal from Klose again. Germany played a good game, as usual. Their defense was AWESOME! XD

My parents came home 10 minutes later from the mamak stall (you see, Shah Alam stole away the joy of mamak from me, hopefully I'll recover=P) and we all sat down to share the excitement. See, that is another thing I love about World Cup. It brings families and people together. =)

It took me a good 15 minute to cool down from the excitement before I slept. Plus, I now have to worry about my pocket because I need to buy my brother dinner! XD
