Music Again

Oh my gosh!! I was suppose to have completed a lot of work by now if I actually followed my "overstuffed" schedule. But Glee kept my work undone. Well, I did do some Maths..and then I had stomachache...so I took that as an excuse to watch Glee.

I first new about Glee when I saw the poster online. There was a lot of hype about it and I thought it was just another "dry-humour-and-heavily-sarcastic" kind of shows, which did not interest me since no one beats Dr. House in sarcasm.

Then I saw a review in Star and when I read the gist of it, I knew this was my kind of show. It is a musical TV series! No kidding! I knew I had to check it out immediately, which I did today.

The pilot was not that exciting and my hopes were quite dashed at first. I expected it to start with bang and people breaking into a song immediately. But I think it was because they were still introducing the show and the characters. It was more like a warm up period. Plus, it would be seriously too cliche to begin like that. But the second episode seriously GOT ME HOOKED! It is hilarious, the characters are so quirky and eccentric in their own way and it is pretty creatively done.

And the songs! AMAZING since most of them are Broadway singers. I absolutely love the voice of the lead actress!! And yes there rumours are true, it is really like High School Musical but this is way better!! Unlike HSM, at least this includes more effective comedic scenes, there are lesser cliche scenes and some older kids jokes. The eccentricity of each character can seriously make you laugh like MAD! XD And although they mostly do covers, it is way better than HSM. More thrilling and energetic.
Plus, there is definitely no scene where a single guy dressed in black, belting out songs on an open green field (HSM2). THANK GOODNESS.

So now...I am officially a GLEEK!
